Welcome to Kawaii Doodle ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our Android application, how we use it, how it may be shared, and your rights regarding your data. By using Kawaii Doodle, you acknowledge that we collect and use information as described in this Privacy Policy.
For information on how Google collects and processes data when you use our application, please visit How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Content Standards
Kawaii Doodle is a platform for sharing original hand-drawn artwork with friends and the community. All user-generated content, including Doodles posted to the Community Feed, text comments, usernames, public profile information, and custom profile pictures, must comply with our content standards. The following categories of content are strictly prohibited:
- Sexual or explicit content: Nudity, sexually gratifying imagery, sexual fetishes, or content intended to cause sexual arousal.
- Violence or graphic content: Gruesome, graphic, or gory imagery; depictions of real-world violence, torture, or execution.
- Hate speech or discrimination: Content that incites hatred against, promotes discrimination of, or disparages individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, nationality, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other protected characteristics.
- Harassment or bullying: Content that harasses, intimidates, threatens, or targets specific individuals for abuse.
- Dangerous content: Content promoting or depicting illegal drugs, weapons, explosives, self-harm instructions, or other dangerous activity.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): Any content that sexually exploits, depicts, or endangers minors. See Section 11 for our full child safety policy.
- Spam or misleading content: Repetitive, off-topic, automated, or deliberately misleading submissions.
We provide in-app reporting mechanisms for Community Feed Doodles and comments. Users may report content using categories such as sexual or explicit content, violence or graphic content, hate speech or discrimination, harassment or bullying, drugs, weapons, dangerous content, spam, not a drawing, underage or child safety concern, and other. Reported content is reviewed by our moderation team, and violating content is removed. Accounts that repeatedly or seriously violate these standards may be suspended or permanently banned.
In-app safety controls: Users may report a Community Doodle from the Community tab or the Doodle detail menu, report a comment from the comments sheet, block another user from that user's profile, delete their own comments, and delete their own Community Doodles from Community History or from the History screen's Community filter. Reported Doodles and comments are reviewed through an admin-only moderation panel where moderators can remove violating Doodles, remove comments, or dismiss reports after review.
Automated content filtering: Text comments and public usernames submitted through the application are automatically screened against a prohibited-content keyword system before being posted or saved. Text matching prohibited categories is blocked in real time and is not published. This automated filtering system is implemented in line with Google's recommendations for managing user-generated content on ad-monetized platforms.
Image moderation: Uploaded profile pictures and public Community Doodles may be reviewed by automated image safety tools, including Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch or similar moderation services, to detect prohibited content. If content is flagged or moderation is unavailable, the content may be rejected, removed, or hidden pending review.
This content framework is maintained to comply with the Google Publisher Restrictions, which identify restricted content categories that affect advertising eligibility. Kawaii Doodle does not intentionally host content in any restricted category and actively moderates its Community Feed to prevent such content from appearing.
1. Who Can Use This App
Kawaii Doodle is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. This application is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use this app. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information promptly.
In compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), ad requests sent from this application are tagged as not child-directed. We do not use interest-based advertising targeting based on past activity by users known to be under the age of 13, and we do not serve such ads on screens directed at children. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with personal information may contact us at kawaiiidcontact@gmail.com.

- Social Data: Your friends list, user connections, public interactions such as likes, reports, and blocks inside the app.
- Device Tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging tokens used to deliver push notifications to your signed-in devices.
- Advertising Identifiers: Your Android Advertising ID (AAID), used by Google AdMob to serve, limit, and measure advertisements. This identifier may be reset or deleted through your device settings.
- Device and Network Information: As a consequence of ad serving and app functionality, standard device and network data may be processed, including IP address, device type, operating system version, app version, and app identifiers. Some of this collection is performed by Google AdMob's SDK and governed by Google's policies.
- Application Preferences: Settings such as dark mode, wallpaper preferences, notification choices, drafts, and local app state stored on your device.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, microphone data, or full photo gallery. To allow you to upload a custom profile picture, we use the secure Android system Photo Picker. This means our application receives access only to the specific image you manually select.
3. How We Use Your Information
The information we collect is used for the following purposes:
- To create, manage, and authenticate your account.
- To facilitate the transmission of Doodles with connected friends.
- To display your public Doodles, profile, comments, and interactions in community features.
- To deliver push notifications regarding new Doodles and relevant account activity.
- To display and maintain your Doodle history, friend activity, and app preferences.
- To provide, manage, and process Kawaii Premium subscriptions.
- To display optional rewarded advertisements through Google AdMob, allowing free users to earn bonus doodle sends.
- To enforce our safety policies, filter prohibited content, review reports, and prevent abuse.
- To respond to customer support inquiries and data requests.
Public profile visibility: Your username, Kawaii ID, profile photo, public Community Doodles, comments, reactions, and public profile statistics may be visible to other users. Private Doodles sent to friends are intended for the sender and recipient, but recipients may save, screenshot, or share content outside the app.
We do not sell your personal information. Where applicable US state privacy laws define certain advertising activities as "sharing" or "targeted advertising," you may control ad personalization through device settings, Google ad settings, and in-app ad privacy controls where available.
We do not pass personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, phone number, precise location, or account ID, to Google AdMob or advertising partners for ad targeting or identification purposes.
We do not use your data, or permit any third party to use it through our application, to target advertising based on sensitive personal attributes, including health or medical information, financial status, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, political affiliation, or trade union membership.
4. Third-Party Services
Kawaii Doodle uses the following third-party service providers, each governed by their respective privacy policies:
- Google Sign-In: Used for secure authentication. Google Privacy Policy
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): Used to deliver push notifications. Firebase Privacy Policy
- Supabase: Serves as our backend database, storage, and API provider. Your account data, Doodles, comments, profile data, and related app records may be stored on Supabase servers. Supabase Privacy Policy
- Google Play Billing: Used to securely process Kawaii Premium subscriptions. We do not store or process your direct payment card details. Google Payments Privacy Policy
- Google AdMob: Used to display optional rewarded advertisements within the application. As a result of ad serving, Google AdMob's SDK may collect and use device identifiers, including the Android Advertising ID, IP addresses, device information, and other technical identifiers to serve, measure, limit, and improve advertisements. These data collection activities are performed by Google AdMob and are governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the Google Ads Privacy Policy.
- Automated Image Moderation: We may use automated image safety tools, including Google Cloud Vision SafeSearch or similar moderation services, to review uploaded profile pictures and public Community Doodles for prohibited content.
For a comprehensive overview of how Google collects and uses information from applications that use its services, please visit: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
5. Advertising
Kawaii Doodle displays optional rewarded advertisements powered by Google AdMob. These ads are voluntary. Free users may choose to watch a rewarded ad to earn a bonus doodle send.
Data collected by ad serving: As a consequence of displaying ads, Google AdMob's SDK may collect and process the following types of data from your device:
- Android Advertising ID (AAID): A resettable device identifier used for ad serving, fraud prevention, frequency capping, measurement, and, where permitted, ad personalization.
- IP Address: Used for approximate geographic ad serving, security, and fraud prevention.
- Device identifiers and technical data: Including device type, operating system version, app version, SDK version, and mobile network information, used to serve and measure ads.
- SDK-level interaction signals: Signals used by AdMob to measure ad impressions, engagement, performance, and invalid activity.
Most ad data collection is performed by Google AdMob's SDK and governed by Google's policies. We do not receive or store raw advertising identifiers from Google AdMob. We may access aggregated advertising reports, such as impressions, clicks, estimated revenue, fill rate, and performance metrics.
Personalization and consent: Upon first launching the app, users in regions where consent is required may be presented with a consent form powered by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP), in compliance with applicable privacy laws and Google's EU User Consent Policy. This form allows users to choose whether personalized advertising is permitted. Ads are loaded only when the SDK indicates that ad requests are allowed.
For users outside regulated regions, ad requests are handled according to Google AdMob settings, device-level ad preferences, and applicable law.
Interest-based advertising and AdChoices: When personalized ads are enabled, Google may use your Advertising ID and other signals to show interest-based advertisements. Personalized ads served by Google may include the AdChoices icon, which links to information about how the ad was targeted.
No sensitive category targeting: We do not permit targeting of ads through our application based on sensitive personal attributes, including health, financial status, race or ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, political views, or trade union membership.
How to opt out or change your ad preferences:
- In-app, where available: Navigate to Profile - Ad Privacy Settings to revisit and update your ad personalization choices.
- Device-level controls: On Android, go to Settings - Privacy - Ads and reset or delete your Advertising ID, or use the ad personalization controls available on your Android version.
- Google Ad Settings: You may manage your Google ad personalization preferences at adssettings.google.com.
Kawaii Doodle does not pass personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, phone number, precise location, or account ID, to Google AdMob for advertising purposes. All data collection by Google AdMob is governed by the Google Advertising Policies and the Google Privacy Policy. For more information on how Google collects and processes data when you use our app, please visit How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
6. Push Notifications and Background Processing
Kawaii Doodle requests permission to send push notifications to inform you when a connection sends a Doodle or interacts with your content. We may request battery optimization exemption on Android to help Firebase Cloud Messaging reliably deliver notifications even when the application is running in the background. This permission is used to support notification delivery and app reliability. You may revoke notification permissions at any time through your device settings.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide the app, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce our agreements. If you delete your account, associated account data, profile details, uploaded profile pictures, Doodle history, public comments, and connections are scheduled for deletion from our active systems within 30 days, unless retention is required for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, billing, or abuse-prevention reasons.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You maintain the following rights and choices regarding your personal data:
- Access: You may view your profile information and Doodle history directly within the application.
- Data Deletion: Navigate to Profile - Delete Account to request deletion of your account data. You may also delete individual comments and Community Doodles directly within the app.

9. Data Security
We use reasonable security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), for data transmitted between the application and our servers. Access to user data is limited to authorized systems and personnel necessary for app functionality, moderation, support, and security. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take commercially reasonable steps to protect personal information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may modify or update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective Date at the top of this document. For material changes, we may provide notice through the application, email, or another appropriate method.
11. Child Safety and Reporting
Kawaii Doodle strictly prohibits child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) and maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward any form of abuse or exploitation involving minors.
In-app feedback mechanism: If you encounter Doodles, text comments, profiles, or user behavior that violates our policies, you may report public Doodles, comments, and other user-generated content through the relevant in-app report controls. You may also block users from their profile page.
Addressing CSAM: We are committed to taking appropriate action to address child sexual abuse material (CSAM). Any user found distributing, promoting, or interacting with CSAM will be immediately and permanently banned. We report confirmed instances of CSAM to relevant regional and national authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), where applicable.
